Hosting Plans

Host gator is only about three years old, but their reputation for service and support is growing by leaps and bounds. The HostGator Review shows that the Host Gator eats up the competition by providing top-notch equipment, plans and customer service. They want you to be happy with your service, and it shows. Read on to consider everything that they offer.

Hostgator hosting has four shared hosting plans, the first three of which provide a very nice set of tiered offerings. The fourth plan doesn't quite fit this pattern and is probably best avoided. Their current special gives you unlimited domains on all but the bottom plan, which makes up for the higher price and lower bandwidth than many other hosts offer. With all their plans, you get the C Panel control panel with the Fantastic script library that is rightfully so popular, unlimited My SQL databases, a choice of three shopping carts, and instant setup.

Their "Hatchling" plan is a bit more basic than your typical intro UNIX plan, but not by much. The main drawback compared to the low-end plans offered elsewhere is the limit to 50 email addresses. That said, unless you are planning on hosting web mail, it is hard to imagine an organization that needs more emails than that AND has to go for the introductory hosting plan.

Host gator’s "Baby" plan is a pretty sweet deal. You go up to ten bucks a month from the Hatchling plan, but you get unlimited domains, unlimited emails, more storage, more bandwidth, and the very nice Site Studio site builder. Honestly, unless you really can't afford more than seven dollars a month, I'd opt for the Baby plan over Hatchling any day. How many of us have sites that really use up the bandwidth allocations anyway? You might as well use it for another site.

Their next shared plan, moodily named "Swamp," may at first look expensive for UNIX hosting. However, you might do better to compare it against Windows hosting, as you get the Chili Soft ASP interpreter on top of the tradition development tools. Throw in anonymous FTP and private SSL (very nice for a fully professional looking ecommerce site) and the price is not bad at all, especially given Host gator's reputation for reliability.

Their final shared plan is a bit problematic. It is called "semi-dedicated" which is a reasonable name for what it is. Basically, it is shared hosting in which you only share with three other accounts.

Host Gator has chosen The Planet to provide its customers with superior network connectivity with minimal required downtime. Located in Dallas, Texas, The Planet's Data Center boasts over 35,000 square feet of raised floor space featuring state-of-the-art security, safety, and cooling systems and is second-to-none in the industry.
